auvke Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 I got my first bass 14 years ago, but I never went anywhere with it. Bought another one 7 years ago and didn't go anywhere with it again. Third time's the charm thought, as I started anew for the last time in late 2019 and I'm properly in it now! Went much much further than I ever was, forced myself to practice with an expensive bass purchase that I had no business owning – but I didn't want it to be wasted money so it worked in motivating me to practice. I'm 100% confident now I'm in it for good this time. And I'm happy to be here! By the way, the expensive purchase was a 2017 Music Man Stingray 4 in firemist gold - my dream color on my dream bass which I stumbled upon by chance brand new at 30% off about two months after I got a cheap Cort Action just to get myself started. I couldn't ignore such a coincidence and here I am 13 months later, still trying to deserve having it. I'm not going to claim it was fate, but if I tell myself I was meant to have it, it makes it less of an irresponsible purchase. 1 Quote
