Had this been creme I may well have bitten. How close to the Stingray tone does this get? The pickup is set further back than a Ray. Does the reverse P make much of a to do difference to the basic P tone?

Hi.I have not owned a Ray for a long time,but to me they are completely different, the Sandberg too me has  darker funkyer pallet. I always use it with both pickups on,And it punches like hell.

It doesn't do a Stingray - it will do a bright modern type of gritty zing but it's not really a Ray.....The P tone is just a bit tighter maybe but you would probably struggle to hear the difference in a blind test. They are really good basses in their own right. I would have another in a heartbeat.
