I remember seeing the unknown Darkness supporting Def Leppard. Couldn’t work out if they were a proper group or a Bad News type pisstake. Come to that, I still can’t…😂

I watched it for about 10 mins last night, that was about as much as I could manage TBH.

Turned the volume down and it was hilarious..😆 Good job we all have different

tastes though innit? A friend of mine has crewed for The Darkness for a few years and always

says what a set of top blokes they are.

They did more than one?🙃

Seven or eight by now, I think! After the mad success of the first album, they hit probably the ultimate example of "second album syndrome" in history and then split in much animosity.

Since reforming they've managed a run of excellent albums, which is a shame they hardly touched them in the set on telly yesterday. Unless we were watching an edit, perhaps?

I missed that. I wouldn't mind seeing it again if they repeat it. But it is not on tonight's schedule .Do they often repeat these shows on Sky Arts ??

Only if they feature Andre Rieu ;)

Whatever happened to Sky Arts showing extended highlights of the Download festival?  Always used to be on a few weeks after the festival, usually over 2 nights, 3hrs each night.

A great programme on Sky Documentaries last night - Steven Van Zandt : Disciple.

A long (2 and a half hours) documentary of Steve’s life, including some great comments

from Springsteen, Southside Johnny etc. Great old clips throughout, recommended if

you’re into all that stuff.

Quite enjoyed TOTP2 last night on 4.. 1977. It was all so fun, musical and cheesy back then... great bass playing stuff. The Dooleys anyone?

It’s not good, Pete.

Just started watching it - band sound fabulous to me, not sure about the singers though?
Just wondering who is in the bass chair? Nailed the Chic stuff on a Stingray, now using

a Squier Precision. Trombonist was excellent on ‘I’m coming out’ too, and the drummer

is absolutely spot on. Shame that both some lead and backing vocals sound a bit off.

Played on the same bill as them in the 80’s, very cabaret!

Pretty sure that's Phil Mulford.

Yes, Phil Mulford along with Mike Smith on Drums.

I too thought the Rhythm section and Orchestra were very good.

I wasn't sure about the vocals either. Pitchy at times and a bit twee (IMO, of course).

:D
