casapete Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 (edited) Nice studio stuff with Bob Babbitt now on Sky Arts, playing with Phil Collins in a Motown tribute thing. Edited January 6, 2024 by casapete Quote
casapete Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Tonight ( Sunday) at 9.45pm on Sky Arts they are showing ‘Concert for George’. A wonderful celebration of the music of George Harrison by a star studded cast, in my view it’s one of the best rock docs ever, up there with ‘The Last Waltz’. 5 Quote
Crusoe Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Watched a bit of "Mick Fleetwood and Friends " last night. Did anyone notice the bit where he had trouble with the autocue? He really doesn't have much luck with them, does he? 😄 1 Quote

Sad to see three artists that come to mind on the stage performing that are no longer with us, Tom Petty, Billy Preston and Gary Brooker. ☹️ 1 Quote

In fact the whole stage was full of people I’ve admired for years. Had the pleasure of meeting Gary Brooker in the 70’s, a lovely funny man with so much talent. Saw Billy with The Stones also in the 70’s, and Tom Petty in 1980 at Manchester Apollo - one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to. I know a lot of folk on here don’t have time for Eric Clapton, but I thought he played and directed the gig brilliantly too. Edited January 16, 2024 by casapete Speling 1 Quote

diskwave Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Saw the Marvin thing last nite too and was rather thrilled when I noticed the bassist playing an SB900 thru a Muisicman rig. Exact same setup I had back in 81. Nice basses tho the neck was always a bit skinny for my hands. Quote
Buddster Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 If Rollings Stones Rock and Roll Circus come back on, worth watching. Was on tonight. Jethro Tull, The Who, Lennon, The Stones, Clapton etc . 1968. Quote
Misdee Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Sky Arts has disappeared (again) from my Freeview channels. No channel 36 listed. Tried retuning a few times but to no avail. Anyone else got the same problem? (Or a solution). I'm really missing it. It's my most watched channel by far. Quote

lowdown Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Sorry, only on YouTube (as far as I know), an Interview and chat with Lee Ritenour. He is talking about his (busy) studio sessions days with a few funny stories thrown in. There are a couple of (baked in) short adverts in there (strings and pedals), but nothing too intrusive. 1 Quote
Skybone Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Saw a good one the other night, Mark Knopfler & Brian Johnston interviewing Sam Fender. 1 Quote

Misdee Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Sky Arts is indeed great, but as I mentioned previously, it's disappeared from my Freeview a couple of weeks ago. Please can anyone tell me if it's just me or if it's not included on Freeview anymore. Thanks. Quote
Richard R Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 (edited) @Misdee There is a freeview channel checker at: https://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview-channel-checker You put in your postcode, it identifies the transmitter, and lists which channels you should get. If you don't see them, then I guess you need to retune. Edited May 9, 2024 by Richard R Quote
