jmesa Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) Got a 1979 Pro1e recently.. was fitted with a Wal custom neck at some point, very nice. The serial number is not listed in the Wal notebook along with 3 others of the same period... some kind of custom order or something Apparently Pete Stevens wanted to buy it back from the previous owner...! Anyway, mine goes up to 11... do all the Pro1's do this? Edit: Pardon my ignorance! Edited March 22, 2009 by jmesa Quote
The Burpster Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Must be a 'Spinal Tap' special......... Quote
jmesa Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 It's a most amusing touch, but I have no idea if this was standard at the time...! Quote

Wal & Pete were way ahead of the game in the trivial rock 'n' roll humour stakes... Quote
WalMan Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Have you looked in the control cavity yet? There is often a bit of masking tape with some more details about the bass, woods etc. Quote
Shaggy Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 How does it sound through the Mesa 400+? That's an unusual amp / bass combination but I'd imagine would sound pretty damn sweet! Quote
jmesa Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 Sounds like any bass through a Mesa... incredible! Quote

OutToPlayJazz Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I can just see you doing that on stage, looking obsessively impressed, "This, ladies & gentlemen, is a WAL bass... And if you look very closely..." Nice! Quote

jmesa Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 How much do you think an original Wal hard case is worth out of interest? The brown one with the logo... Quote
