Fender Precision - Is it just me or is something off about this?

I came across this left handed P-bass on Ebay, and between the frets and the serial number, something didn't seem right. Can any Fender aficionados confirm it's authenticity?

The position of the machine heads on the back of the head stock looks weird to me - I have two lefite P's, (both USA) and they both have even spacing and they are further away from the edge. This one just looks wrong.....

I'm fairly certain that Fender have never put a plastic washer under the neck plate. Aren't fender neck plates branded anyway?
In it's defence I can vouch for the fact that some of their string through ferrules are loosely fitted and can fall out.

Not a technical observation but the neck just looks sh!t. It's not a Fender, not even a Squier.

The 1973 precision had a gasket under the  F series neck plate, but that’s certainly not one 😁

It's a bass. There, the similarity between it and an actual Fender P ends very abruptly.

I'm no expert, but that's not a Fender. The body looks all wrong. And the pickguard doesn't fit properly. It's a mess

As someone with (hopefully) a real 1977 Lefty precision, this is wrong at so many levels.....I don't think any precisions had through body strings in this period.  The Fender logo is not even an amateur fake.  The Serial Number would have either been on the neck plate or at the top of the headstock, but not on the back of the neck.  there should be some evidence of a pull/thumb bar (even if just the screw holes), it should weigh a ton, and even if it were real (which it clearly is not), even bad examples didn't have a neck joint like that.  All of that said, if it were real, it should be worth about £2k
