I'm selling my 1974 jazz bass. All-original, except the long G screw on the bridge which seems being a replacement part. Neck was built in 1972, pots too, pickups are from 1974, solder joints being untouched.

The bass is in road worn condition, many crazes on the body, yellowed lacquer which came off in some areas on the back of the body, but there's no structural damage at all. The (flame) maple neck is straight with low action and stiff enough for 45-105 rounds, with nice margin left on the trussrod. Frets are used but not abused. Bass is on the light side too : 9 lbs / 4,1 kg.

As for electronics, pickups and pots work fine. Nice output, effective tone cap and instant 70s jazz bass tones. It's a killer bass with pick, fingerstyle, slap&pops and super fat with flat wounds. Loads of heft, presence and articulation.

It comes with an early 70s Fender original case, in quite poor condition (see pics). £2630 / 3000€, price lowered this week-end : 2800€ ! Can arrange shipping, cost depending on which shipping company chosen.

Early 1970s Jazz Basses did have a longer G string intonation screw.

Absolutely, but this one seems a replacement to me. It didn't aged like the 3 others and the head-screw has a different size too.

Period correct replacement then,  and very nice.
