AndyTravis
A mate has just sent me this...“I’ve come into possession of a Egypt Luxor Nefertiti bass. They were hand made by a luthier in Scotland in the early 80’s. Apparently to the right person they’re desirable but I can’t find any sort of price info on them. Have you heard of them?” I haven’t heard of them before - there is a website. but wondering if anyone has an idea of value. Looks cool - dated, but the headstock put me in mind of Ashley Pangborn basses...

velvetkevorkian
Huh, I had no idea Jimmy Egypt built instruments (although I did suspect that wasn't his real name...) He has a well known and long established repair service in Glasgow and I think his own shop now. Couldn't speak to its value though, sorry.
AndyTravis
Nope that’s fine mate - seems there’s been a thread here before. I might end up buying it. Will see.
Bassassin
There's something magnificently and indisputably Glaswegian about the fact the fretless version's called the 'Nofretiti'! 4

ead
I did not realise that bass playing was so prominent in 18th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt.
