I've got one of these and it's brilliant. It is indeed a J Mascis in a different colour, so you can get the same spec as the Mascis  for about 1/3rd less. I swapped the pickguard and plastic parts on mine

It’s a very nice guitar, plays, looks and sounds great. Unfortunately it’s just not for me
