Steve Browning Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 They were called quarter pounders when originally released. Don't know when the name change happened. Quote

McDonald's probably has a trademark on 'Quarter Pounder' so they changed to 'Quarter Pound'. Quite what a pound has to do with it anyway I don't know, surely they should be 'Quarter Inchers'. That's not quite so macho sounding though I suppose. 1 2 Quote
PaulThePlug Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) I always thought the 'Quater Pounder' term was derived from some sort of ordanance size in weight or caliber of round, HE or incendry device... like the 25 Pound Field Gun etc... I am aware of the 1/4" pole pieces used in the pickup, so aligning with some reference to impact or heft... Oh, and Gerkin OUT.... Edited February 16, 2021 by PaulThePlug Quote
Cat Burrito Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Interestingly if you type Seymour Duncan Q into Google, it auto completes to quarter pounder. I'd never thought about it before this thread but I've never owned a Quarter Pound pickup (& don't eat McDonalds either). Quote

TheGreek Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Not sure but the pick ups may taste better... 1 Quote

All strings designed for magnetic pickups are steel, but not all are stainless. Are those STANLESS strings made for Eminem? Quote
Killed_by_Death Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 I don't know anything about Eminem, but I see the spelling error, can't believe I missed that! Quote

Killed_by_Death Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 There's two, because I usually catch spelling errors w/o even wanting to, I used to tell folks Chris Squire had sod-all to do with Fender's budget line. 1 Quote
