Folkesy Posted February 20, 2021 Posted February 20, 2021 Hi All, I have a Yamaha BB435 and two of the tuning pegs are making a horrible rattling noise at certain frequencies. I have done some searches and it looks like it is a common fault with these lightweight tuners. I have been looking at what I could use to replace them and have seen that people have used the Schaller BML machine heads (they look the same dimensions except the length of the peg is shorter). I was wondering if anyone had used these tuners on any of the new BB series basses and even better if anyone had any photos to share. Thanks! 😊 Quote
jrixn1 Posted February 20, 2021 Posted February 20, 2021 (edited) I've had the rattley tuning machine on two of the current line of Yamaha BBs. Try a couple of drops of thin superglue where the key meets the shaft (use the thin stuff so it wicks into the gaps). Edited February 20, 2021 by jrixn1 1 Quote
Folkesy Posted February 21, 2021 Author Posted February 21, 2021 Thank you for the feedback. This has to be worth a try before replacing them. 👍👍 Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Deffo the superglue thing!. Seen this on a couple of Squier basses and it worked a treat Quote
