Sarlscharisma
So thought I’d chime in with a new addition to my collection, a Serek Lincoln, made in Chicago. A very nicely put together bass with 4 way switch for a range of tones including series and parallel options. The sounds are very different to what I’ve come across in any bass I’ve owned and offer me something different to my Fender and Rick mainstay sounds. The craftsmanship is like nothing I’ve had before - sublime! Just need to get it out for a test run now and out of the office chair!
Doctor J
Very nice, congratulations. Great to see a bass doing its own thing, design-wise. What are the controls? And any chance of a pic including the headstock?
cocco
Man that's cool. It's got a bit of the grabber/ripper about it. I bet it sounds huge. "My daddy said son, you're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop playing that hot-rod Lincoln." Grahambythesea
Well that’s a bit different.
ezbass
Liking that and Serek as a whole (although they’re eye wateringly expensive). That one has a Grabber meets Ric thing going on.
BassApprentice
I was just watching a bunch of Serek vids last night as I'm weighing up buying their new B90 humbucker for my Bronco project. Interesting pickup placement, was that your idea of theirs? Edited February 21, 2021 by BassApprentice
NancyJohnson
This doesn't compute. I see a mash up of a skinny Bongo, Gibson Ripper and a Spector headstock Strangely alluring.

I was attracted to the Ripper/Ric hybrid thing going on

It's 34". I'd love to give a better review of the sound but I can't justify that until I hear it in a band setting - that's where it really matters. My gut feeling is that it will be great for our ska/reggae songs, but jury's out as to whether it has enough to do punk numbers like that Stranglers.
