This looks identical to the VJ4 I used to own.. Either way it doesn't look like it has passive electronics. Just saying.

This is most definitely the Modulus I used to own. Its an amazing bass. GLWTS.  I think I acquired it from you. Looks like the instrument has been added a preamp. Nothing to take away how good this bass was/is though. Its an epic Modulus jazz.  and well worth what Pedro is asking.

Not sure it can be!  Your bass had 4 pots and I'm pretty sure it would stand out like a sore thumb if it had a plug in the existing hole.

Its the same bass believe me. I know that bass very well. . Check out the quilt. It's identical.  Modulus basses never came with a preamp like this one for sale either. its been added very well.  I recognise the wood knot on the back also. .

Possible the first switch is in a bushed hole, that the top dress washer just covers?

Nice 'shape' type markings to the neck, a change from the usuall CF weave.

Looking at the top just made my eyes go wonky, so I certainly couldn't go off that but I suppose the rear of the bass having a knot might be a giveaway!

Yes, seem’s to be the same bass (check the “flames” on body) with a good work replacing preamp. I’ve played this bass (I know Pedro very well) and is really amazing,
