TheGreek Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 (edited) Not sure if this was featured last year - I don't recall seeing the thread. https://www.guitarworld.com/features/fender-will-no-longer-use-ash-bodies-for-production-line-guitars-we-found-out-why-and-what-woods-will-be-used-instead Edited February 27, 2021 by TheGreek 1 Quote
Drax Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Some interesting stuff in there, not seen that before. Won’t be long before we see ‘one of the sought after Ash bodied..’ appearing in second hand ads. 1 1 Quote
Cato Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Happened a while back. The new American Professional ii range started using roasted Pine for its natural finishes last year. It's particularly interesting from a bass point of view because the reviews I've seen suggest that the roasted pine is noticably lighter in weight than the Ash was, so it might be a useful change for those looking for a lightweight instrument. 1 Quote
Cato Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 (edited) Sorry, double post. Edited February 28, 2021 by Cato Quote
Doddy Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 I heard about this. It's a shame, pretty much all my favourite basses that I own are all Ash bodies. Quote
