SteveXFR
It was all good until the vocals started. Im not saying she's a bad singer but I just hate that particular vocal style.
Barking Spiders
This type of music isn't normally my thing at all but I've seen these girls live and they nailed it. No gurning but effortless cool. Mind you, I've always had a thing for good looking Japanese girls so I may be a bit biased 😀
BassAdder60
I too thought was good until the vocals came in ! She is a good singer but didn’t feel it suited the genre that well

bartelby
Reminds me of a modern version of 80s German Power Metal...
BigRedX
How do you know that they're not just another group of Japanese Visual Kei pretty boys? Have a look at some "Malice Mizer" and "Versailles" videos if you don't believe me. Edited March 3, 2021 by BigRedX
dudewheresmybass
Some great playing, but does nowt for me 😉 agree on the German power metal thing though

Well I have looked and indeed you make a case for it but Lovebites are too soberly dressed compared to visual kei bands, which hark back to UK 70s glam, 80s New Romantic and hair metal looks. Lovebites aren't mentioned anywhere as being visual kei so I can rest easy.😁

But no less formulaic than many thousands of metal bands formed over the last couple of decades, though I guess you could make an argument for djent bands being an exception to this. Graham
A bit power metal for my tastes, I prefer these ladies

As I've said metal isn't really my bag but I can make an exception for these Japanese, all-girl metal bands as they're a refreshing change from the usual metal/hard rock fare. And they're all great players.

Plus AFAIK visual kei bands don't tend tag themselves as 'all-female', they tend to not mention gender, or they give a nod to their kabuki theater influences. B. Versailles are great! Discovered them 2 or 3 years ago. Not a massive fan of Kamijo's vox, but the playing is superb. The fact that Hizaki wears a dress really doesn't affect my appreciation of the music. Not heard of Malice Mizer, I'll check it out later. 🙂 Edited March 3, 2021 by odysseus

MacDaddy
Wow! They are women! They are in a band but they are women! They are playing their own instruments but they are women! They are playing metal but they are women! They are doing what men do but they are women! Whatever next? Maybe we'll have women driving buses, and possibly even women being politicians! 4

If we start down this path they'll be out of the kitchen and wearing shoes and trousers and things! It's a short hop from there to letting them in pubs and giving 'em the vote.
