I reckon Chris Wolstenholme as centre-back. He looks like he wouldn't take any prisoners and I would send him forward for corners and free kicks.

Slight derail, in the early 70s Golden Wonder crisps ran a competition whereby you had to pick a football team from  the then Div1 and Div2  players and give the team a nickname. I entered and named players such as Billy Bremner, Norman Hunter, Ron "chopper Harris, Nobby Styles all known for their rather direct approach. I gave them the nickname "The Crispy Crunchers". Never heard anything from Golden Wonder
