stewblack Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Hi, as the title suggests I have four speakers, each one rated 8 ohm, and wish to wire them in such a way that they will be safe to use with an amp which has but one output. The amp is rated at 4 ohm minimum. Here's my question. Is this diagram correct? Quote
Killed_by_Death Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 That's a good diagram, because if any one driver fails, it will still continue to function. However, it's 8 Ohms total: 8+8 in parallel = 4 (the pairs on left & right) 4+4 in series = 8 (left through to right is in series) It's still safe for your amp, BUT you'll get roughly half the Power 1 Quote
Killed_by_Death Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 There are potentially 3 ways to wire it that come up with even numbers: all series = 32 Ohms (each Ohms value summed) all parallel = 2 Ohms (the value of each driver divided by two, twice) series-parallel = same value as a single driver 1 Quote

MoonBassAlpha Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 The upside is your amp should run cooler into an 8 ohm load. As long as it is loud enough, you're all good! Quote
