You would expect there to be some provenance or at least an attempt at a back story with this .. otherwise like you say it’s just a shite guitar with marker pen scribble on it.

If real I would have expected them to write obscenities all over it instead of their names. I can't make out any of the scribble - is it supposed to be Glen or Sid era?

Seems odd that they would be signing a guitar that you can buy new now...

I saw a document about a group of fellas who would go just about anywhere to collect autographs on cheap guitars/ sports memorabilia/ etc so maybe that's it's history. It is Glenn Matlock rather than Sid signing as the bassist.

I'm assuming it's much more recent rather than when they were relevant, probably signed at one of their anniversary/reunion cash ins.
