NGD Yamaha AEX500

Fancied one of these for ages.

The prices on eBay are mental, I always bid to about £300-£350 but always get a shock that they hit £500 ish and I don’t play enough guitar for that.

Anyhow. 
 

Facebook Marketplace delivered the goods today.

2.7 miles from home. Literally at the end of a main road near me.

Needs new strings. And a clean. And a setup.

Pulled all of the necessary tools and stuff out to do this.

SOMEONE has tidied away the d’addario 10’s I had lying around.

I'm another who's always fancied one of these, i do the occasional search on ebay but they're too expensive for me, I think if one of the Nylon strung ones popped up at a sensible price then i'd be sorely tempted.

EDIT -  a quick ebay search throws up an AEX500NS still at a reasonable price, but there are 5 bids already so i'm not hopeful.

I really fancy an 500n too.

Theres an ESP/LTD Which is a similar style, they seem to vary in price too.

This still needs a new set of strings and a clean/setup.

Im off work for a Fortnight from Wednesday so will get chance.

Nice guitar Andy, obviously meant for you! I tried one a while ago and was well impressed. Always fancied one of the Yammy BEX4 basses too.  

Begs the question - have Yamaha ever made any bad instruments?

I did own one of the bex4 basses for a bit, I didn't seem to bond with it. 

I have yet to play a bad yamaha instrument though.

That looks lovely, you gotta love f holes. 

I picked up a similar looking thing last year made by melody, archtop, f holes, but wierdly with an ovation style headstock and composite back. 

I've also yet to find a bad Yamaha instrument. PSST, I've still got a tabacco burst BEX4. 😉

Ain't this the truth. We have a bunch at work (FE College). They take the most fabulous abuse and keep on going.

The tele shape one is a Pacifica 311s.

The other orange one is an aex502.

And of course the aex500n.

All are gorgeous.
