Nail Soup
I'm evaluating reaper, about 10 days into the 60. One key thing I need, which I don't get in Studio One, is to make videos. First off, I could not import vidoe, abut after importing some files (see otehr thread) it will import video. I've successfully recorded a track with drums (programmed), bass, guitar, keys (Midi) and vox and applied a few effects. All rendered to WAV very well. So far so good. I added some video clips, chopped them up to have changes at each bar. That worked well. I rendered to video, and it looks OK, but no audio. Tried a few different formats, but no sound. Hoping the Basschat brains can help 🤞 See screenshots:
skidder652003
I'm not too sure but I wonder if that mpeg 2 format might be an issue? I usually render video in mpeg 4 or MOV files with 16 or 24 bit PCM for audio.
Nail Soup
Thanks @skidder652003 I don't have an option for mpeg 4 (just 1 or 2), but I do have a MOV option and with MOV option comes options for PCM (16 bit or 24 bit): I tried it like this but still silent: If this setting works for others then I guess there must be something wrong in the video support files? skidder652003
yeah MP4 is MPEG-4. Still no sound though? Weird. Try Format as QT/MOV/MP4 Try the video codec as MJPEG Try Audio codec as 16 bit PCM what are you playing back the video on? if you have a windows machine it's worth downloading VLC player (free) as it has the right codecs for reaper.

skidder652003
great news that evaluation doesn't run out after 60 days btw. Reaper runs as normal for ever, they just put a temporary popup at the beginning to remind you to buy a license when you can.

I'll probably take the days I need to evaluate (60 might be enough) then, if reaper becomes part of my tool set, pay the license fee.
