It’s a long way away from Forever And Ever for Demis!

Saw this on a car advert this evening. Never heard it before, and really dig it...

Co-incidentally, I also became aware of this track a few days ago, via 6muisc catch up (Gid Coe)…… I thought it was really good too!

I'm not good at picking up songs from ads, probably because I never got into the habit of using sham or googling.

I got a bit overexcited when I heard this on telly the other day. Very unexpected! A wonderful album.

Here's one from a few years ago that I find myself singing quite regularly. Raging Speedhorn, I think it was.

I wonder how much Maiden made from that advert.

Back when I was about 10 I heard a song in an advert for some jeans, back home in Spain. Two years later or so I found it was "Satisfaction". Well, a version of it by a Spanish band, just for the ad. I went to the record store and bought the first Rolling Stones I could find with that song in it. It was "Still Life", live album from 1981.

I thought the Stones' version was crap, put the album away and ignored it for another 4 years or so.

Now it's one of my favourite albums. Despite their version of Satisfaction :D

Stone Ponies featuring Linda Ronstadt and Different Drum

Generally I'm of the opinion that ads ruin songs - I didn't know this song before hearing it on the telly.

Great tune, written by Mike Nesmith from The Monkees. Also has Bernie Leadon (The Eagles) on guitar too.

gotta be maidens phantom of the opera in the lucozade advert

Darn, I had forgotten all about that commercial. That was legit the first time I ever heard that song.

This one, might be too tame for you all..but that Debenham's commercial got that song hook stuck in my brain, it just makes me feel happy.

Reef - Naked for Sony Minidisc for me.

That’s exactly where I was going. I bought the first album on the strength of the ad! To this day it’s still a great “4 people in a room giving it heaps” album.
