SteveXFR
I've got a 30 year old amp which is very dusty inside and has a couple crackly knobs. My plan is to open it up, use an air duster to remove the dust and then a little contact cleaner carefully sprayed on the back of the knobs with a cloth to stop it going over everything else. Does that sound reasonable?
itu
Very much so. Turn the pots for some time to get the best results. But do not keep the pot axles downwards if you do not want less friction. The contact cleaner can dissolve the axle grease.
