BigRedX
Nothing wrong with that. My first sampler was the SK1. Also if you want to hear what can be done with kids toys when it comes to making music check out Kid Carpet.
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
Thank you brx😼👍 I will indeed check that out . I have been watching a few vids of the sk-1 and sk-5 They are shooting up in value now The sampler is one of the main reasons . I did a couple of soundcloud efforts with the app , but something told me to get this . The eBay listing just happened with buy it now . I think I was probably one of the very first to see it . No hesitation , I snapped it up. complete with original box and 2 booklets a fantastic purchase It's taking my mind off of the Moog sound studio which I don't need and cannot afford at this time
BigRedX
I think I paid £20 for mine when they were being EoL'd in the late 80s. They now seem to be 10 times that second hand. Madness!

It's annoying ( or was annoying ) when I saw recent you tube clips of people paying a few dollars etc .I paid £80 plus postage , but don't feel sad about it as the condition is immaculate . Plus I have the books ..and a Tandy power adapter 😼

My mate modified one in the early 90s. Sounded great until he tried something else and melted something important. Much like he did to my Boss RPS-10

I don't think I'll get this modified , as it'd probably cost more than what I paid .Plus it may be a tad overkill .
Pea Turgh
Saw Kid Carpet perform in a pub in Brizzle yonks ago - what a star!!! He had an MPC and a toy guitar! Also bought an SK5 in a boot sale for about £5 in 2010 ish. Stupidly sold it a few months later (along with an MT68 I bought for £3 in a charity shop) but sold it for 5 times what I bought it for, so there we go. Didnt know there was an app version of the SK5 though - off to check that out...

I managed to record a few bits on soundcloud for a giggle . For me , the trumpet is the best sounding instrument on it . It didn't take me too long to record the intro of 'ring of fire ' on a track I made up 😹. My keyboard friend thought I actually sampled it from an original recording 😹
