These are great. Washburn EA2000. Should be able to find one for about £200-£250  I was selling mine but decided to keep it.

Washburn is another underated brand both for acoustics and basses. I have had Washburn basss and I still have a Washburn acoustic.

One maker I think should be on this list: Eastman. Very highly rated for their semis and acoustics, made in China... very well indeed. They do an OM acoustic that Maks reckons will give a guitar twice the price a serious run. Have a big reputation in the U.S. for their semis. Just think they are worth a look - in the range around a grand new in UK. 
Agree the Taylor will be good, but I think all Taylors end up over-priced here. And the Fender seems well-rated.

Well for now things are parked.  I still search for Taylors, but I've got an NS EUB incoming (this was always going to be a birthday gift from the missus).

 

It's still on my radar, but not just yet.

Try and find a Guild Songbird used, you'll be looking at £800-£1100 but they're great little guitars.

Godin's are top quality for the money. Yamaha do the APX thinline range, they are popular, can be had cheap secondhand and are nice to play.
