chris_b
Ali MacKenzie has just passed. Sad news. During my schooldays I spent many evenings in his company. He was the singer in The Birds, and with Ronnie Wood, inspired me to imagine being a musician. The Birds were one of the great live acts of the time. Another part of my youth fades away! As I say, sad news.
YouMa
I read about the UK birds in Ronnie's book. Will have to give them a listen.
chris_b
Sadly Roger Hawkins died yesterday. You might not know his name but you've heard his work a million times. He was the drummer at Fame and Muscle Shoals studios, and played on 1000's of classics, including When A Man Loves A Woman, Mustang Sally, Respect Yourself and many more. Another large part of my history has gone.

durhamboy
Sad to hear about Ali, I remember seeing him around my area as a kid in the 60's and seeing The Birds on TV was great, seeing a band from our boring to us, outer London towns on TV was something special.
