A mate has asked me to clean up and test out his GP11.
it sounds huge !!

ive never owned one of these - will investigate SN to try to date it. Weren’t the earlier Trace Elliotts the more desirable ones ?

I thought first of all that it was just a GP11 preamp but looking at the rear, it looks like an entire AH250 has been reassembled into a flight case?

In fact looking at the model number on the back, it may have once been a 8x10 combo?

Yes, it's been taken from a combo.

I've got a GP12 /4001 head. It sounds fantastic, really nice preamp but as I found out the power amps are a bit fragile, not helped by their age. Mine is currently being rebuilt with a modern power amp.

Yours looks similar age to mine, mid 90's. It's well worth getting a Trace cab if you can find one with original speakers.

That looks like a MkIV (mid 80's) and yes they're wonderful things.

Here's mine, still as nature intended. 😎
