Indeed. It would be about the same size as the linnstrument (but with a smaller range).

I upgraded to Equator 2 while they had the 25% off and the updgrade offer, and that is pretty impressive. Probably the best synth I have. Works with both the roli and the linnstrument

Same here.  E2 is an impressive synth.  I got it in January for £80.  The other 2 I'm really liking and are MPE, are Pigments3 & Serum.  Both very different & both impressive.

Thats what I got it for. Not sure I have tried the others. Well, technically model 15 on the iPad is MPE, but it is mono anyway.

It is supposed to be doable to set the blofeld up as MPE, I haven't tried it yet.

If you’ve got Logic Pro X, most of the stock synths are MPE. Another 2 are Strobe2 & Cypher2. I’ve got them both, but hardly use Strobe2.

I'm looking at possibly doing this in the (near) future too. Obviously, the LS-2 is an obvious choice for combining keyboard and bass into one amp; but would a noise gate also be handy? It would be used on the bass's output, then maybe the LS-2 used to simply mix the two signals. The keyboard ought to be near silent when not in use so no noise gate needed there.

This way there isn't actually switching of the instrument, instead both are present but the bass would be kept silent when not played.

Or are accidental knocks of the bass likely to trip the threshold of the noisegate anyway?

When I do try to do this the keys generally go to the PA, but can be mixed through the Helix inputs. When I have loads of time to set up and pack down (so never) and also run an acoustic guitar on a playing stand then I have volume pedals on each of bass, guitar & keys to be able to adjust/mute whatever's not in use and might ring out

What did Geddy Lee do? Apart from have two men - a bass tech AND a keyboard tech - help him. I guess the mixing engineer is pretty good too, and knew their set very well, as well as keeping a close eye on what he's playing in case of differences.

Bit late to the thread so I think any input has been covered already but yes, another Mcmillan 12 step user here. I'd used Roland PK5 pedals from around 2006 but retired them once I'd got into the flexibility and smaller footprint of the 12 step. I barely have room for those on stage, an actual keyboard as well wouldnt be feasible with the 5 piece band even if I taught myself to play them.

For someone who can't play actual keys at all I found it fairly easy to get into. In fact being untrained possibly made it easier going over to the 12 step as with that you don't have to follow the normal pattern of note / chord position if you dont want to (which is not the case for PK-5, Taurus etc) so it offers more scope for a bit of experimentation.

For eg I programmed all the subtle variations of chords required for the backing to the guitar solo of Another Brick In The Wall#2 and can just step through them in sequence on the 12 step while the guitard does his thing.

That was literally my first use of the 12 step. The backing chords in the middle of Another Brick in the wall, because it drops out so much there.
