Pubs to open indoors from 17th May - but will it mean work for musicians ?

Even if we were allowed to gig tomorrow I wouldn't - I haven't played with either of my bands since March 2020.  We'd need to be allowed to get together in sufficient numbers/households to get some ruddy practice in first - I'm not sure I even remember which way round I hold the bass never mind remembering how to play all the blooming songs!

Yes... they are free, easy and quick... kids have to do em twice a week attending school... simples... why would you not want to? Especially if you have a range of age, those that have had the vaccine, or not...

I am about to start rehearsing with my band. The drummer wants us all to take lateral flow tests beforehand.

Is he being reasonable?

Yes, he is! I'll be doing  a LFT before rehearsals to ensure I'm not a risk to my band mates.

Probably what my daughter has to do once or twice a week - she's a primary school teacher. She just told me the has to take a test every week or so. I haven't been employed (nor on benefits) since 2012, so well out of touch.

I've done some solo live-stream gigs.

I have my first post-Covid with a band gig in a couple of weeks. I'm playing with a jazz band at a private event. We need to arrive an hour early and undergo a Covid test first.
