TheGreek
...and a mere $2,299.00 · Joe Dart Jr.

You can get an actual full-scale ‘Ray, with 3 band EQ for $300 less. They be smokin’ from the marketing BS bong.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I wouldn't refuse one if I was given it, but I don't think it would sound as good in my hands.

BassApprentice
To be fair for Vulfpeck, a lot of Dart's tone comes from post production and live he tends to stay pretty consistent so he doesn't really need a tone or volume. But selling it for more than the one with more features, that's a bold move and it's paid off (for 50 sales at least 😂)
Beedster
Am I losing my marbles or didn't this same discussion happen in relation to the same model bass a while back? Are EBMM simply issuing them 50 at a time a year or so apart?

drTStingray
Yes I think it sounds great (in his hands) - short scale no controls - Wow!! Great colour combo as well. According to the video, production funded by Jack S as well. Edited May 11, 2021 by drTStingray
Burns-bass
Still don’t get it.
NJE
I think the concept is great and I have to respect Vulfpeck/Jack for fronting it and taking the gamble (even though there isn’t one). He could have done a lot more and sold them all but they don’t work that way. Live the little nod to Pino, a short scale must look like a Ukelele on Pino 😄

ezbass
Buy a Sterling short scale , fit flats and wire the pickup directly to the jack output. Good to see EB check their copy before putting it out into the world, or not (how wide is the neck?). No mention of nut width that I could see, although it looks like a Jazz 1.5” from the video. Rumple
I like the idea, I'm not sure about white and gold or that price tag though!

Nod to late 50s Precisions (adonised pick guard, white body)? They sold out in a few hours!! Price obviously not a problem to some people. The regular Joe Dart bass now available in satin black also.
fretmeister
I quite like it. I wonder if EBMM are going to make short scale strings available for sale now. And I noticed that the full size JD model is still using the older and heavier tuners, whereas the ray specials etc have the new lightweight ones. Wonder why.
