Best colour pickguard

Recently

Just picked up a 3TS Jazz Bass this afternoon, rosewood fingerboard, Mother of Plastic block inlays. The previous owner has removed the pickguard for a Jaco vibe. I want to replace it but can’t decide on which colour to go for. Would appreciate your input

3 TS... 3 tone sunburst?

I dont do tort, and like more wood so if it dont need one then without, if ya got holes and to keep the line then clear, then black for simple, then off white for a more classic look

I’ve gone for black, to me 3TS/black/rosewood & blocks screams 70s. If it hadn’t had blocks I’d probably have gone tort.

This thread pops up as I am looking at jazz bodies and necks, contemplating an all black jazz with NO guard and a black control plate. I hate that mine has screw holes in it. My local luthier said he could make them less noticeable but I would always see them and wouldn't be happy. Methinks he's right. I have an all black, not BWB, .090 on the way from WD with a bag of black screws. Accompanying it is this-

I picked up a Japanese Fender Jazz in 3TS a few weeks back, it came with a Red Tort guard which I immediately swapped out for a black one!

I've not voted as this  depends on the colour of the bass.

Some of my favourites are:

• Sunburst + proper 4 ply tort pg
• Aged white / cream + aged pearl pg
• Daphne blue + aged pearl pg
• black + mirror pg
• candy apple red + 3 ply black pg
• natural ash + 3 ply black pg

However....there's a seller on eBay who sells tan leather J scratchplates which would look amazing.

Google and you'll find loads of examples.
