Amazon...

'Guyker 3 Point 4 String Bass Bridge Tailpiece' £20... maybe quicker delivery.

I loves a clean up... masking the frets, wire wool, dremel polish, lemon oil the fretboard.... Such a transformation in an hour!

That is a fantastic bargain, I know others would probably not do this but at that price I would get a Hipshot Supertone Gibson bridge and an Artec Mudbucker (they usually pop on Ebay all the time) which will be closer to the original Gibson Mudbuckers than the Epiphone pickup, even with those mods you would still have spend less than the cost of what the Epiphone goes for new

I made both these upgrades to an Antoria EB-3 and can only second them.  The Supertone bridge is a work of art :) , imo, and the Artec mudbucker is absolutely fabulous.  But do check the dimensions.

What do you use the Dremel to polish?

I mask the frets (and pickups) with Masking Tape, couple of passes with 000 wire wool (0000 is finer but havent got any...) Then a dab of Autosol (motorcycle chrome cleaner) on the frets with a cloth... it dulls black... then a couple of passes back and forth along the fret with a little polishing mop in the dremmel to polish the autosol off... gleaming frets!... and maybe a quick go over the bridge plate n tuning peg ears...

If no wire wool or autosol... Duraglit Wadding does a good job.

Then take of the masking tape and lemon oil the fretboard... (Non Lacqured Maple, and dont tell killed by death 😉)

I thought I had some but it's ambersil, have plenty of polishes and potions, I'm sure I'll find something on there and I have some good old fashioned lem oil too

I have one of these (in another country currently) and bought the extension bar for the bridge, (can't remember the brand for the life of me!). I think the strings will go through it first and then through the stock bridge. A cheap trial in any case.

Is the Artec mudbucker worth a look? I was looking at the DiMarzio model 1.

Mine is strung with flatwounds, but tempted to go round! Can't wait to stick it through a fuzz pedal.

I put a DiMarzio Model 1 in an Epiphone EB-0 years back and recently put an Artec Mudbucker in my Antoria EB-3 and would say the Artec gives a better 'Gibson' EB-0 tone.  The fact that it is a quarter of the price is quite astonishing.

Artec it is then. Makes me wonder how cheap the stock EB0 pickup is !

Having recently replaced the P90s in my Casino with Artecs and been amazed at the difference, I’m going to say the originals are absolutely dirt cheap.

Exciting... Couple of EB0's on Gumtree... both £150ish...

Cant wait for the neck pics... only a little bit of lemon oil mind... 😉

Very Nice... How was the cheapy bridge? or did you just use the sadle(s)? - All fit OK?

£40, plus the strings then (flats?)... and kept ya out of trouble for an hour or so... Serious Bargain!
