What's Going On was 50 yesterday, and as a celebration (and if any album is worthy of such, this one must be) Craig Charles has what sounds like a great show from 6pm tonight. A host of current artists are recreating the album, along with interviews with people who were involved in the album, or worked with/knew Marvin.

Yes, I’m a regular listen to Craig Charles’ Funk and Soul show and today’s programme sounds extra-special.

What did you think of the re-interpretations? The band sounded on the money but some of the vocals sounded a bit wobbly to me.  No auto-tune/pitch correction going on there! But fair play to them for having a crack at one of the best albums of all time.

Did you catch the Sandi Shaw cover of Sympathy for the Devil? Scary stuff!

I thought the band were good, but possibly a bit clinical. Loved the guitar solo on Inner City Blues, and really liked Joel Culpepper's vocals. Watched it on iPlayer, so missed Sandi Shaw. Will try catch up later.

I missed the 6 music stuff but I've enjoyed this YT vid and the 2 that accompany it, great to hear the multitrack broke down into instruments.  Yet again, sorry for the derail, hopefully the clip attaches OK.
