Hi.

Can anyone please identify which model of Fender Precision this is.  4 string, rosewood slab fretboard, dated 2008 in the neck pocket, 2 tone caps in the control cavity, made in the USA, desert sand colour (I think), white laminated scratchplate, serial number Z8104396.  The finish has linear checking lines running the length of the body as if it's nitrocelulose.

Is it a Highway One/Highway1?

Spot on. It`s the second version of the Highway series, the first series had a BBOT bridge if I remember correctly. Good basses, I had a black one that I sold to Johnny Frog on here years ago.

They are nitro I think. Certainly a really thin finish that didn’t take long to wear, but looked great. Cool basses. I believe they also had the graphite rods in the neck and the Greasebucket circuit. I remember them being a really good price when new for a US Fender, but not too many seem to pop up 2nd hand.
