Chiliwailer Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Jeff Lebowski was a CCR kind of guy, upsetting Eagles loving cabbies along the way. In fun - being a CCR fan too, listening to Eagles recently made me think about Lebowski, the dude. I’m not into all their stuff, but I won’t knock Eagles as the proof is clearly in the pudding, great talented band. Our rabbits love them, but not CCR 😂, which made me wonder what BC thinks? Quote
bartelby Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 The only Eagles track I can stand is Journey of the Sorcerer 1 Quote
hiram.k.hackenbacker Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Creedence all day long for me. Every time I hear the Eagles on the radio I can hear The Dude complaining 😂 2 Quote
Dad3353 Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 'Hotel California' trumps 'Bad Moon Rising' by a very wide margin, for me (but I play drums, so what would I know..?). Quote
Paul S Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Love a bit of Eagles, me. Their O2 'History' gig (2014! How did that happen?) remains one of the best gigs I have ever seen. Not so keen on CCR but still like a few of their chunes. Quote

In fact, that album ‘Willy & The Poor Boys’ is a cracker. 2 Quote

That makes sense, our rabbits treat this place like a hotel, and are sh*t scared of being out when the moon is rising Quote

Thanks for the recommendation (if you're right..! ). So many good albums in addition, Green River, Cosmos Factory, Pendulum (but the skip the last track... southern rockers on acid ain’t pretty...). But if you like/dislike one, then you’re likely to like/dislike all Edited May 27, 2021 by Chiliwailer 2 Quote
Bobthedog Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 I have recently listened to more CCR than The Eagles, not sure what that says as some of that is down to someone else playing the music. I do have an occasional liking to Have You Ever Seen the Rain; especially one or two of the YT videos available. Quote
Beedster Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Down on the Corner is one of the hardest songs I've ever played; sounds so simple, but very very very very hard to get the feel. CCR had a groove, Eagles were good, but never grooved. They came close, but never close enough. 1 Quote
Beedster Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Kinda early 70's Flea versus King thread this 1 Quote
Beedster Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 IIRC one of the BC members is in a CCR tribute by the name of Credence Clearwater Revival Revival. Now that's a name 2 Quote

Guest Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 I don't know much about the Eagles, but I know what I don't like. I'm with the Dude on this. Quote
wateroftyne Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Eagles, but I have no issue with a bit of CCR. Quote

FinnDave Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Aren't they basically the same thing? I've played songs by both in various bands but couldn't say which was which. Quote

Lord Sausage Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 It's taken me a while to work out who Eagles are. I live near Wigan so have always thought the were called Th'eagles! 1 Quote
Paul S Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 One of my fave Eagles Tunes. Doesn't get a lot of airplay and is a bit different to most of their stuff Be pleased to see some less known CCR recommendations. 1 1 Quote

Sticking with your theme of a bit different to most, this is great 1 Quote
