Fishfacefour Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Whilst driving home this afternoon I saw a fiat 500 that reminded me of a short scale stingray. Small, light coloured, nippy around town I guess (not having driven either). It got me thinking about what car would represent your bass? Is a P bass a lean sports car or a utilitarian people carrier? Is a jazz an SUV or a saloon? Bearing in mind I know very little about cars (and not much more about basses), what bass are you driving? KiOgon Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 There's only one for my 1951 P-bass, (even if it's a Jap RI) 😎 1951 Chevy pick up truck, yellow of course 👍 3 Quote
Crusoe Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Olympic white '91 Squier silver series Jazz Bass, so something like a Mazda Mx3 maybe. Quote
Dad3353 Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Hofner Verithin bass, so an Armstrong Siddeley Star Sapphire (My Dad had one just like this for quite a while...)... 4 Quote

Many many moons ago, my dear old Gran re-married a geyzer from Norfolk, he had one of them too! Always knew him as Lord Bacon-Phillips, but no idea if that was anywhere near right 🤣 but can remember travelling in style in it some times. Also - later in my younger days, we rented our garage to a lovely old chap around the corner, he also had a Armstrong Sidley, which he kept in the garage, occasionaly taking me for a ride, remember washing it with him.I must have been about 10 or 11, he taught me to play Chess 'properly' too! 1 Quote
Cato Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Not particularly glamorous but the Ford Fiesta is by far Britain's most common car. Got to be a shoo in for the Precision. Quote
itu Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Alpine is as french as my Vigier Passion. Another option could be a Renault 5 Turbo. Small, special, and light. Modulus Genesis could be Vette: both have fiber construction. Affirma is different, so is boxer Subaru and Wankel Mazda (RX-family). Hand built super light fretless... be it a Super Seven. Every bitsa is like any DIY glass fibre replica. But not a Ford Fiasco, no? Clevinger... a ten wheel Peterbilt without a trailer, maybe? 1 Quote
paul_5 Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Given that all of mine are Bitsa basses mine would have to be a kit-car of some kind, nothing flashy mind, all ‘utility vehicle’ sort of thing. Quote
mikel Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 (edited) Mine is a classic Mini, as its a short scale. Compact, nothing that is not essential, but nimble and beautifully balanced. Edited June 2, 2021 by mikel Adition Quote

Doctor J Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I've just put a set of 135 to 65 strings on a 35" scale Yamaha TRB and tuned it BEAD with a drop tuner to give me low A on tap. Quote
Nail Soup Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I don’t know one car from another... if someone asks me about a car I’ll just say “ it’s a red one”. So what kind of car is my bass? It’s a purple one. 1 Quote
