Delamitri79
Hey folks. I have a 07 stingray 5 and it's a beast but I find it a little anemic and clanky but also solid as a rock. I've an opportunity to swap for a lakland skyline 5502 deluxe but not sure. All opinions welcome
chris_b
Anaemic would be the last way I'd describe my SR5. It was a huge sound, but I decided I didn't like the humbuckers. I sold it and bought a Lakland 55-94. IMO a night and day better sound and feel. I've also played 55-02's and think they would definitely be a step in the right direction. Delamitri79
Anaemic is probably a bad word for it. Its got the ceramic pickup and I dunno if its just not right for me. It sounds very metallic and (searching for a word here 😂) anaemic 😂. It's a pure powerhouse but I struggle to get any versatility out of it. I know I'll get scorned for that remark but it's true. I play many genres and it'll do the job but I'd like to get closer to the sound I'm after than what the sr5 offers.

Doctor J
If you like the feel of it, why not just try a different pickup and/or different electronics?
Delamitri79
I don't really wanna spend that kinda money on it to be honest.
