Framca
I visited my local PMT to try out a Fender Mustang JMJ bass and the first thing that happened was the g-string tuner broke off in my hand as I tried to tune it. It looked like a failed weld when manufactured. Has anyone else had a similar experience as I might need to reconsider if this is a regular occurrence. Or maybe I was just really unlucky - it was the only one they had in the entire PMT company!
Jonse
I imagine the bass has probably taken a knock at some point as those basses come with quality Hipshot tuners.
Framca
Just now, Jonse said: I imagine the bass has probably taken a knock at some point as those basses come with quality Hipshot tuners. That was what made it all the more surprising but yes, you could be right.

I mean, there is a possibility that it could have been a duff tuner like you said, but I've had (I think) 10 sets of Hipshots of varying types and I'm yet to have a bad one 😁
ezbass
No issues with mine at all. Sounds like a rogue, or damaged in transit.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
Definitely an isolated incident. Hipshot make quality stuff & the tuners on my JMJ are perfect
