Pookus
Can anyone suggest some decent replacement machine heads compatable with the Epiphone EB0. The stock ones are a bit rubbish (not suprising as the whole bass cost £130 new). I would like to put Gibson ones on but can't find them on the net. ~tl
I think the Schaller BML series tuners fit, though they're not cheap these days – were £40 ish about a year ago and Allparts are now wanting over £80 for a set.

Your VMJ would have 4 in a row whereas the EBs are 2x2. If they are suitable for a 2x2 machine head arrangement how much are you asking? ~tl
If they're anything like the BMFL series, then yes they should be reversible. Might be worth checking the dimensions of your current tuners match though. You can get a technical drawing here: http://bass-machine-heads.com:80/upload/CY...ik_BMSeries.pdf

They match the machine heads on the EB0 (except they will work much better). Happy bunny.

Pookus
In the process of installing the Schallers. Massive improvement in quality! The only thing is the collets are a very slightly smaller diameter so I have carefully glued them in rather than rely on a compression fit. Should be ok though. Tomorrow I will fit machineheads once glue has set. I have heard that some of these EB -0s have ply bodies. I took the neck off and the body is defo mahogany - so no fears. There was a small shim of wood but I dont think it was sufficient so I need to shim the neck a bit more to get a better angle on the neck and set up. I have a DiMarzio Model One pup on its way so will fit that once it arrives - pics to follow...
