I've got a white Precision and a white Jazz - both have tort guards, wouldn't look right with anything else. Both have rosewood boards, though. Yours needs something dark to give it a bit of contrast, I reckon.

What?! We're not talking about the elephant in the room? That is triple ply! You must take it off now for shame! Single ply white > the others (on a fender).

I think that you've proven that it isn't!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Of course mine is right and yours is wrong...

Indeed. Thats what makes the world go round.

My opinion is always wrong - and I'm not even married. I'm used to it.

I love the quote from the father in "My big fat Greek wedding" when asked if it was OK to disagree with him. Paraphrased:

"Of course not, as long as you don't mind being wrong".

Richie Blackmore had a T shirt made which read "Everyone is entitled to my opinion".

(I have to admit that the black plate on that natural Dimension does look pretty lovely).

Just to add, it can also depend on the tort, I had one on a natural jazz and it didn’t look that good because it had too much red, I changed it for a darker red/brown tort and it looked great

True enough. Get the impression WD’s are more red than brown.

Yeah, I went for this one in the end, it’s the vintage 62 type which was darker

Anything is an improvement over white, can't stand white pickguards, they really make a bass look cheap. Just recently swapped the white pearloid pickguard on my Ibanez Mezzo for a black pickguard and it looks so much better
