SteveXFR Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I recently discovered this live collaboration with David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails and holy crap it's good. Two very different artists but their sounds work together so well. Both artists really show their own sound in this 2 Quote
Nail Soup Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 One that took me by surprise, and contrary to the OP example as badly received by both sets of fans, was Metallica And Lou Reed. 1 Quote

Mykesbass Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I'm a big fan of Tom Morello's work with Bruce Springsteen. Guitar on Ghost of Tom Joad is just so different from what you would expect, and the clash of styles works brilliantly, giving it an edge. 1 Quote
TheGreek Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 (edited) Probably the most unexpected must have been Bowie and Bing Crosby on "Little Drummer Boy". Edited June 19, 2021 by TheGreek 1 Quote
TheGreek Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 (edited) Big Cher fan so when she did that horrid track with Meathead I couldn't believe it... ...and I wasn't overkeen on this either. Edited June 19, 2021 by TheGreek Quote
TheGreek Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 (edited) Greatest bass player of a genre meets one of the least talented people on the planet. The things people do for sex... Edited June 19, 2021 by TheGreek Quote
Lozz196 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 What I heard of the Metallica/Lady Ga-Ga collaboration sounded pretty good, she has a hellova voice. 1 Quote
Graham Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Emma Ruth Rundle is stylistically very different to Thou, though I think they share a similar ethos. Their collaboration from last year - May Our Chambers Be Full - is spectacular https://thou.bandcamp.com/album/may-our-chambers-be-full Quote

I think that was the first in a trend for metal/hip hop crossovers which ultimately lead to nu metal. It may have seemed like a bit of innocent fun but ultimately, this collaboration resulted in Limp Bizkit. 1 Quote
