Panic over. I was being dim. Found it on TalkBass, hadn't logged in for over 10+ years!

Attached year if anyone else is interested.

That’s a bit out of date, even for v3. Here’s what I’ve got so far (though the pitch tracking mode and hard sync don’t apply to v3). It still needs some work to get it into a nicer format.

That is absolutely ace, thank you so much.

Even just having control over the EQ is a game changer. This really opens up the pedal!

I think my Novation SL MKII can transmit NRPN. I have a battery pack Velcro'd to the back and I use CME WIDI bluetooth devices. This will give me a wireless portable device to controller the FI.

You can already control EQ by assigning flexi controllers to up to 4 parameters without NRPN.

Mortrix has the full v3 NRPN implementation as a profile so it’s a breeze to use.

 Said very few people ever!

This has to be tongue in cheek right? Having to hook up pedals (or any music gear) to a computer to access its full functionality is a pain in the ass.

Clearly I am in a minority here. I was scarred by pathetic attempts to programme things through tiny 2 row LCD displays back in the day. Octavious Squeezer - I am looking at you.

My fave pedal at the moment :D

It's almost therapeutic when you learn to love it!

Haha yeah I've heard the Squeezer is a bit of a nightmare to tackle.

Don't get me wrong, having to hook up my Future Impact over the years has taught me a lot about synthesis etc, but it's a bit of a faff having to take it off my board every time I want to update patches/access full options (probably why I haven't done so in about 3 years now haha!)

I use mine with my Morningstar controller which can act as the interface too so no need to unplug/disassemble anything - simply hook up a usb cable to the Morningstar et voilá!

I would love to get something like this (for both synth control and general switching stuff) but it's just a bit out of my budget at the moment. So the old Roland UM-ONE tends to get used the most for any patch updates (which is rare, can't see myself changing my custom 99 any time soon!)

I use the midibeam 4Control fastened ubder my board.

No need to take off the FI and it gives me expression pedal and an extra two button switch

I use that too sometimes but the MS offers me many more options (and controls my other pedals too). If I were taking the FI and nothing else to a session I’d probably use the 4Control.

Yeah, i would like a morningstar, but cant cant justify it with my setup.

I do has a dmc.micro for midi on my smaller board and i am amazed by hiw much thiis little box can do. Im using all the ports on it simultaneously to control multiple pedals and an expression pedal.

That would come to £328 altogether from DV247 at the moment, so with current currency conversion rate it works out about the same, but does the Panda price include VAT and delivery??

Sorry to keep banging this drum, but I'm still confused by how much cheaper DV247 is! 😅

Panda isn’t registered for VAT in the UK, which is why buying direct will be subject to UK import VAT (and why they are keen to get a UK distributor).

So in the meantime, just buy one from DV247 if it’s cheaper there as they do appear to be registered for UK VAT.

Just arrived!

FI Mk4.jpg

Am I first out the blocks after @Quatschmacher on this forum?!

Looking forward to giving the stock patches a spin very soon and, at some point down the line getting the necessary cables to hook it up to my PC.

Any generic USB to MIDI will work. I have a spare I could post out to you (though am in hospital tomorrow so it might take a few days to sort it out).

Think you might well be the first one; you’ve narrowly pipped @andybassdoyle.

Thanks very much for the offer Peter - but no need to worry; I think I've got one of those (I think it's with the MC6 I've loaned out to a mate!).

I have just acquired my second iteration of this wonderful pedal.

I was too impatient the first time around. I wanted to twiddle a knob and instantly produce the perfect synth bass sound. Ignoring the facts that I had no grasp of midi, no familiarity with the editing software, no clue what the different physical controls were for. To my shame I got cross that this complex machine wasn't more simple, and got rid.

I'm more teachable now, I've even gone through the manual! However, in trying to recreate a patch created by someone else, I've come across a problem. Their patch has some sliders which are split. Thus:

Sirensettings.thumb.png.a5b023b3880078e9909254075445a913(1).png.b2da3750cb892dc19867e7b71ded7001.png

And for the life of me I can't work out how to achieve this 'split'.

Any ideas would be very welcome. Thanks.

Read the bit on Flexi Controllers in the manual.

You click “learn” on one of the four flexis at the top left of the screen then click the slider you want to control. (You need to select the source in the flexi too by clicking the little window with the source name.)

Just read that section. I'm going to let it percolate, then read it again. When I get home, and can set up my FI, I can run through the example they describe, which ought to help.

First impressions are definitely positive. Does feel like its tracking better.

Quickly auditioned about half the stock patches and very much liking #47 which has a differential response depending on how hard you dig in - synthy with a lighter touch and more of a gated fuzz sound when you dig in hard. Pretty cool! One of yours, Peter?
