Davy
Does anyone know when the Sire P5 range is due to be released in the UK? I see on Anderton's website that you can order but there are no dates yet for their arrival. They look great and so hard to choose between the colours... uk_lefty
They've been saying 3+ months for 3+ months now. Which isn't wrong. But it's a bit like sticking a sign in a shop window saying "back in 10 mins" but nobody knows when you actually left.
Davy
I know, it's really annoying and I'll probably get too impatient and end up buying something else before then.
danbowskill
Im constanly checking. I would have loved some more natural colours with a black plate. How the V5 natural model looks..... As a P5 👌
Pea Turgh
5kg? Is that boat anchor territory? Pretty sure my JV P is 3.4kg. https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/right-handed-bass-guitar/sire-marcus-miller-p5-4-alder-mild-green-electric-bass-guitar?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxt3jguWx9QIVmuvtCh2P-gr6EAQYASABEgIxG_D_BwE Edited January 14, 2022 by Pea Turgh

My 1st generation V7 is about 9¾lbs, my Squier VM Precision a few ounces lighter. I'm not someone to worry too much about the weight of a bass however, 5kg is getting a bit heavy imo...that's assuming Bax have their information correct, I've never seen Sire quote the weight of any of their instruments. MichaelDean
It does say "including packaging" though. A bass sized box could be a fair weight.

That’s hopefully the explanation 🤣 Still, would be much more useful of them to quote the weight of the instrument only - I don’t tend to gig with basses still in their packaging 🤪 Edited January 16, 2022 by Pea Turgh

ezbass
I emailed Sire direct, this was their response: Please be advised the new P5 bass has a smaller body and is generally about a 1lb lighter than the V7 basses. The V9 basses however have the maple top which adds about 1lb to the V7 models. For our V10 models the weight is approximately the same as our V9 models. M2 M2 4st: 8 lbs M2 5st: 9 lbs V3 V3 4st: 4kg = 8.8lbs V3 5st 4.5kg = 10lbs V7 (V7 Vintage) V7 Alder 4st : 9 lbs V7 Ash 4st : 9 lbs V7 Alder 5st : 10 lbs V7 Ash 5st : 10 lbs M7 M7 4 Alder bass 8-9 lbs M7 4 Ash bass 8-9 lbs M7 5 Alder bass 8-9 lbs M7 5 Ash bass 9-10 lbs V9 V9 Alder 4st : 10 lbs V9 Ash 4st : 10 lbs V9 Alder 5st : 10-11 lbs V9 Ash 5st : 10-11 lbs

Davy
I really wanted one of these but I got so sick of waiting for them to come into stock last year at Andertons that I gave up and bought a squire FSR instead.
