dave84
have never been a big fan of Adam Clayton but I must admit that over the years I began to appreciate him more and more until I was able to understand what his greatest gift was: the time. There are bassists who struggle between scales, slaps, double thumbs, often losing focus on the role of bass and timing and then there's him who doesn't give a damn and goes straight on his way with his very precise eighths. without ever stumbling, unleashing a limited baggage of technical skills that nevertheless are enough and advance to support his band in the best way, and not just any band but U2! An example is in this song, a very simple line yet damn effective, direct and beautiful (in my opinion) in its simplicity that I tried to emulate here with my trusty Thunderbird… good listening! https://youtu.be/YNKAtiOYv6w Edited June 21, 2021 by dave84

Lozz196
Good track Dave, and think you’ve nailed it with your description of ACs playing, a simple but effective bassline that probably much of a generation hum on 01 January every year.
