Kevsy71 Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 With Mrs Kevsy having just acquired a nice beginner violin, would anyone here have any recommendations for online beginner tutorials/courses? Many thanks! 1 Quote
bass_dinger Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Did you find anything suitable? When my daughter was learning, it seemed to me that the teacher was for ever correcting bad habits, preempting bad technique, and sharing good habits that carried her easily to Grade 8. Conversely, another family friend had taught herself on the recorder. She was very good indeed, but had somehow managed to get her hands the wrong way round. By the time a teacher told her that, it was too late to change years of ingrained habit. Quote

I could actually play reasonably well and was good at picking up a tune by ear, but the teacher made me play with my left hand at the top and I struggled. Quote
miles'tone Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 I don't know if this is still needed but this lady who is the The Tune Project is great! Quote
