ribbetingfrog
I just bought a Samick Greg Bennett Corsair bass. its 2002 made in Korea, and has an active preamp with pj pickups. im struggling to find many with this two part scratch plate and none in this colour! wondering if anyone has any information about these… it’s a nice bass, rolled fretboard and good frets, very nicely made. im certainly very happy with it!
LeftyJ
I think that model is called CR4. You may find more about it under that nametag
ribbetingfrog
So far I’ve found this colour was a limited run in 2002-2003.
Grahambythesea
Smart. Something rather G&L about it.
Maude
I've just seen one for sale locally, sonic blue with the two part cream pearloid scratchplate and chrome jazz style control plate. I don't need it but it looks ace, they want £60 for it. I might cave in. 😁
Maude
@ribbetingfrog Yours looks great. How does it sound, have they scrimped on the electrics or are they OK? What style neck is it, more P or J? Edited July 19, 2021 by Maude Missing words missing words.

TheGreek
That headstock will be useful at Halloween - looks like a ghost.

ribbetingfrog
It sounded good with the preamp on, not great without! ive put a bare knuckle 58 p bass pickup in it and now it sounds immense!!!! really top quality tone, my number one bass now. deep bass with a that sits just above the mix, without overpowering. enough to stand out and be present in a good way. really well made, great to play. im not very good with neck types but it seems precision like to me. not too thin but not chunky. so after a pickup swap it’s my number one bass. my music man cutlass feels nicer to play but this plays really well and the sound on this is killer. I read somewhere that it’s like a Squier classic vibe in terms of quality and I agree. before the pickup swap it was pretty good but not up to my standards.
Geek99
It’s not my usual choice but for that money you cannot argue with the value
Maude
The one local to me has just sold. I had yesterday and today off work and decided if it was still there tomorrow then I'd pick it up on the way home. Shame really as ever since I've seen the Warman quad rail pickups, I've fancied putting a pair of them in something. If the pickups aren't great in these then it would have made a great recipient. This is/was it.
AndyTravis
That’s actually really nice. What a shame it’s gone!
