I was really disappointed when Be Bop Deluxe split but bought Revolt Into Style when it came out (on blue or red vinyl, I think?!) and loved it. I saw the band at Birmingham Odeon (or Town Hall?) and, again, loved it. Whilst it wasn’t BBD, it was a definite progression from Drastic Plastic, which I really dug, esp. the more electro moments on the album (e.g. Electrical Language). For me Bill Nelson is such an overlooked artist and musician… Still love Modern Music, and Bills solo stuff. Amazing guitarist also…. Arent they more part of the jazz-pop thing of the mid 80s along with Sade and Animal Nightlife? Anyone remember this cracking Peel fave? Wish Planet Rock would play stuff like this and other bands mentioned on this thread rather than bluddy Foreigner, Styx, Dire Straits, Smith Kotzen etc all the time

Having Derek Forbes on bass is always a good thing. 59 minutes ago, Harlequin74 said: i will stop now, this is getting obsessive! Don't. Really enjoying this thread. Barking Spiders
Here's one hell of an underrated/overlooked band, 23 Skidoo. That this vid has just 370 views sums it up really. I guess they were too different and inventive for the general public in the early 80s.
Waddo Soqable
23 skidoo takes me back a bit !.. We used to listen to this one when sitting around all night talking bollocks in the Hulme Crecents
Waddo Soqable
Which also reminds me of these.. Tony Wilson thought they were going to be factory's "big thing" rather than Joy Div. Tw@t !
MacDaddy
I'm tempted to post some The Damned. Controversial maybe, as they were one of the original punk bands, but since reforming (for the first time) in 1978, they've definitely covered the post-punk and alt-rock genres.
