Fuzzbass2000 Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Any recommendations for a suitable flight case? My go to was a Mono stored in the overhead on Easyjet, but it seems that option has no been removed. It's odd how Fender don't seem to make an SKB style case for Mustang basses, considering how many Mustangs they have in the range. Quote
Paul S Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Pretty sure it is this model that fits: https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Gator-GC-ELEC-XL-Deluxe-Moulded-Case-For-Electric-Guitars-Extra-Long/CU0 I've also used a hard case for a 335 shaped semi-hollow for a short scale Mustang/Musicmaster. MichaelDean Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 I got one made about 10 years ago by Flight Case Warehouse when I had to fly mine. I sent a tracing of my Mustang and then they made a case to fit. Looks like they're charging £180 now... The thing is a tank though and really well made. https://www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/industry/product.asp?item=bass-guitar-flight-case-fits-all-3140-3980 Quote

I use this one for my Mustangs when I need a hard case rather than the gig bags. A tight fit but works just fine. Quote

martthebass Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 There’s about a finger space of wiggle room on the body so it’s not a flush fit but it doesn’t slap about inside the case either. 1 Quote
Lozz196 Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Updating this for anyone interested, the dimensions of the Gator GC-Elec-XL seem to have shrunk as the one I ordered was too small for my JMJ Mustang to fit in. However going by a tip-off on Talkbass I ordered a Gator GW-JAG and this is fine. 1 1 Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 (edited) I have a servicable home-made (not by me) hard case (almost a flight case) made for a musicmaster/mustang bass that just needs a bit of tidying up — free to anyone who can pick it up from Sutton — North Surrey/South London. Edit: This has now been collected Edited September 5, 2024 by Jean-Luc Pickguard Quote

I've seen numerous listings online and some of the photos don't match up - I need to get a case sorted asap so don't have time for trial and error. Thanks Quote

Thanks I got it from Gear4Music - next day delivery by 10:30 as well, was impressed. Quote
