MrMonkeywizard
Chaps and chapesses, Do any of you fine lads and lasses have any advice on delivering? I'm trying to get a bass from Chorley to Bristol and there are some real horror stories out there regarding couriers. Any advice on who to use/avoid or is a road trip likely the only safe way to do it? John
GreeneKing
I always find it a traumatic experience. Ideally the bass with be in a hard case and have an outer box. It can be insured if double boxed like this but that can cost a fortune depending on the value of the bass. An option is to remove the neck for shipping... AndyTravis
Road trip…or get a man an van to do it. I use a guy called Mark - happy to share his details. about £50-£60 and insured/safe. Rather than £50 that Parcelforce will charge you to smash or lose it
BassBunny
I've recently used DPD local fora number of deliveries, not all instruments, and they were spot on. Agree with @GreeneKing regarding insurance, in most cases it's more than courier charges. I've started using Secursus to insure courier deliveries. Quite a bit cheaper than couriers insurance but I haven't had to claim, so not sure how good they are if you do need to claim.

walshy
Mark is excellent. Moves a fair amount of expensive basses, amps etc and he’s super reliable! If he stays over - hotels etc he takes them in the room with him. Can’t recommend enough
MM Stingray 62
I wouldn’t use anyone else now fantastic service. Even though Mark isn’t a player he really gets how much our basses mean to us all. Edited July 10, 2021 by marleaux62 1
