ash
I’ve been messaging the seller about this. I think it’s a JV era with the decal sanded off to make it look more like a Fender - as many did back then. What do you think? Looks okay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133815059797?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Edited July 11, 2021 by ash
prowla
I was just about to post this - maybe the "....er" brand suggests it's a bit ropey! But them machines look Japanese. And the seller has added a disclaimer too. Quote This may well be a MIJ Fender or JV Squier guitar neck not 100 sure , So, could this be yet another dodgy "Fender" item for sale. (But I'm not going to say it, because the last time I pointed something out with a "Fender" logo on it I got insulted and sworn at!) ash
Yes he said he would amend the ad when I pointed out that it may be a Squier. Edited July 11, 2021 by ash
prowla
Another dubious Fender.
Shepster8316
Here are some insurance pics for my JV (PB-62) neck heel and tuners dated Jul 83. Heel seems deeper and tuners & ferrules are different on mine. Obviously, there may be variations in them though, so who knows...
ash
The machine heads are gold plated replacements. There is also evidence of a strap button on the back of the headstock.
itsmedunc
The JV 57's had strap buttons on the headstock. My JV 57 did not have any dating on the heel but there was no question that it wasn't a JV. I don't get why the dating on that heel can still be seen although the lacquer has gone? It must have been pencilled on by a man with a heavy heavy hand 😂
