Hi all,

My kid needs an experienced drum teacher, preferably in Cambridge area, and preferably smb who’s well versed in jazz or fusion. We might even consider coming to London from time to time, if it were worth it. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

My partner takes lessons from Gabor Dorniyei, and he's a beast... Give him a Google. A great educator, really good with jazz, Latin, fusion... He's off doing a drum camp at the moment, then he's out with playing with Stanley Jordan and Laurence Cottle. He's based in Harrow though, although he does Skype too. I'm unsure of his availability, but he's well worth an enquiry. Only last week he was jamming with Gary Husband... We went down a couple of days later and you could still feel the Rhythm in the room!🤣

Bloody nice fella too.

I had percussion lessons from him at ICMP. He is fabulous, and such a nice guy too.

Michael William Connolly or Pete Riley. Both in Essex though.

You'll find them both on Face book.

You could approach your local school or music hub for a recommendation. Make sure whoever you choose has an enhanced DBS check.

Hey.

I'd recommend contacting either

Becca Robinson

She's moved a little bit out of Cambridge but when I've played with her, she is one of those drummers that I just click with

Luke Pettit

He's in Bury St Edmunds, another top drummer and very friendly chap.

Both of these peeps I know through theatre and function work, are both classically trained and very able at all styles.

The third person, who I know taught Becca above, I always hear as a recommendation, but I don't know/have never worked with personally is Roger Batting
